Accommodation
When planning your vacation in Peru, choosing the right accommodation is the next step after booking your plane ticket. Everyone seems to want to visit Peru between May and August, hence it can be very hard to find accommodation even if you try to look couple of months in advance. So the sooner you book, the better, especially if you plan to stay in Machu Picchu or Nazca.
Accommodation in Peru takes many forms. From the luxury 5 star hotels, to the very cheap hostels and pretty much anything in between.
Let’s take a look at some accommodation types in Peru so that you know what to expect.
Hotels
Hotels in Peru vary from the cheap 2 star (or even non rated) hotels to the exclusive 5 star hotels and pretty much anything in between. Although the prices don’t particularly vary according to the season, there tend to be enough discounts to make booking in advance worth it, especially if it’s outside the high season (May to August, depending on the region you are heading to).

Hostels
Hostels in Peru are dirt cheap and there are plenty to choose from especially if you are heading to one of the major cities. The situation changes a bit in Nazca, where the offer is limited but the prices are really low anyway. The cheapest bed in a dorm costs US$4 per night while for a bed in a private room you won’t pay more than US$20 per night no matter where you are heading to. Just make sure to book your bed well in advance.
